  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 40 g extra virgin olive oil
  • 100 g thin dried pasta for soups (e.g. fidelini)
  • 250 g tomatoes, cut into pieces
    or 250 g crushed tomatoes, canned
  • 50 g tomato purée (concentrated)
  • 2 heaped tsp stock paste, homemade, meat or vegetable
    or 2 stock cubes (each for 0.5 l), meat or vegetable
  • ½ - 1 tsp ground cumin, to taste (optional)
  • 800 g water
