  • 4 shallots cut into halves
  • 250 g smoked trout fillets, cut into pieces (approx. 4 fillets)
  • 150 g crème fraîche
  • ¼ tsp fine salt
  • 2 pinches ground white pepper
  • 20 slices pumpernickel bread (see tip) or brown bread, bite-sized (Ø 4-5 cm)
  • 4 - 5 sprigs dill, fresh for garnishing
