  • 7 oz shallots, halved
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 sprigs fresh parsley, leaves only
  • 1 oz extra virgin olive oil
    or 1 oz unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ oz balsamic vinegar (optional)
    or ½ oz apple cider vinegar (optional)
